Taking the air back
A series on A4 paper with acryl and gesso

Art leaves traces - just like nature. The works in my series Taking the Air Back make that process explicit. On ultra-thin unprinted newspaper, I brush plants that blossom from a limited color palette. The vulnerability of the technique contributes to its beauty. What you see is a glimpse and a hint of a plant, the suggestion or suspicion of a flower. Traces of a process: from brush to leaf, from fracture to healing, from vulnerability to strength.
