Mounted Touch Drawings
A series mounted on the paper of a book and wood

I apply oil paint to a panel and place a sheet of silk paper on it. Using my hands, I then create 'touch drawings.' This transparent layer is affixed to pages of an old book painted with pink spheres. The (old) book to which I adhere these layers is 'Souvenirs d'un alpiniste' by Émile Javelle. My goal is to consistently shape suitable forms that reflect my personal obstacles and fascinations. Traveling itself is crucial to me, an ongoing balance between highlights and shadows. The mountain I face? That's me.
